In my first question, I forgot to mention my primary interest in possible OTC abatements. Are there any that you know of ? Is valproate in this category ?
Brief Answer:
Antioxidants may be of help too.

Antioxidants are among OTC treatments for SCA. Idebenone (similar to coenzyme Q10)is one antioxidant that was studied in this direction and was found to be of benefit. Valproate is a prescription drug.
Hope this helps. Take care.
