Suggest Ways For An Anal Fistula To Heal Quickly
Question: Suffering from Fistula last 10 days. Taking following medicines:
1. Cifran -OZ
2. Zerodol-P
3. Anovate Ointment
Taking sitz bath with Betadine solution after putting in XXXXXXX warm.
It is recovering and I can see some new skin is coming. Anything that can be done for faster improvements.
I do have some discomfort sometimes. Please suggest.
Let me know I can send my latest anal photograph to depict you latest update.

Hi,
Since you are recovering, I wouldn't add any new medications. However I will suggest you take plenty of fibres in your diet and drink lots of fluids.
If necessary, you may take a stool softener such as Syp Lactulose to prevent the effects of straining which may aggravate / impair fistula healing.

Fistula and other anal canal pathology are better appreciated by a broad light examination and or per rectal examination. A proctoscopic examination may be necessary in some cases. Therefore it would be appropriate to discuss with your treating surgeon and understand the current status.
