Suggest Ways To Avoid A Child From A Bullying Friend
Question: My son is 6 years old. He is well mannered and polite. He goes to school with another child of the same age from the building who is also his friend. This child is aggressive and I'll behaved. There are days when the two of them are friends and there are days when he keeps teasing and ill treating the kids. I have explained to my son multiple times to dissociate with him...but he keeps sticking around saying he is his friend. This child's parents do not intervene at all when the child is ill behaving. There are time when this child just keeps ordering the other kids around and they follow willingly. I find this very disturbing at the same time I want my child to be able to discern for himself what is right and wrong. Sometimes I'm too tempted to intervene. How do I deal worth this situation and how do I educate my child to make the right choices.

Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
I understand you have problems with your son sticking with his bullying Friend.
1. Try persuading him to stop playing with him. This will happen only with repeated talking. Be consistent in your words. Deal him strictly.
2. Punish him for not listening to you by taking away his favourite toys or dish.
3. Reward him everytime he behaves as per your request.
4.Rewards can be again toys or even a XXXXXXX or kiss. You can even give him a star everytime.
Divert his attention to other things like chess, etc.
Try taking him along with you to park, etc
Wishing your child good health.
