Suggest Ways To Avoid Toe Infection
Sorry for lack of detail in the first question. Essentially what happened was that I had a paronychial infection that cleared up after antibiotics but the toe was still hurting. I just noticed that the nail was slightly ingrown, so I lifted it up with a tweezer and cut it out even though I know I probably shouldn't have. In the process, I seemed to have caused some bleeding. I put silverdein and a bandaid on it but l want to know the steps I can take to further prevent infection. Thank You.

Hello My Dear
Thanks for contacting us with your query!
I am Dr V XXXXXXX a XXXXXXX Dermatologist.
I have studied the given details and would be glad to help you in finding a solution to the concerns.
For someone attending with me personally, I would have examined thoroughly the lesions as well as general health and most probably would have advised as follows:
1 Dressing using Mupirocin cream using a cotton gauze piece dressing to permit ventilation
2 Protection from water or humid environment and also protect from trauma
3 Amoxy-Clav 625 mg twice daily as antibiotic. Your local healthcare provider can prescribe it.
4 Multivit preparations available over the counter.
5 Anti inflammatory like Brufen 400 mg thrice daily.
Good recovery can be expected in the next few days.
Please make the best use of this information. I would be glad to answer any further questions from you.
Our best wishes, always!
