Suggest Ways To Breastfeed A Newborn Unable To Latch Onto The Breast?
Question: Baby girl (4.5 month old) is not latching on right breast. She starts crying. Earlier she used to get the feed from both the sides. she takes mother feed only since birth. Please suggest if there is something to be taken care.
Brief Answer:
Positioning should be the problem as she was feeding well previously
Detailed Answer:
Hi... as you say your baby girl was feeding well previously at both the breasts and now not feeding only at the right breast, I feel that positioning while feeding from the right breast should be the problem.
I suggest that you check also check if the nipple on the right side is getting retracted. If this is not the case you adjust her positioning while feeding.
If you want I can send you the link on websites teaching you diagrammatically on how to position the baby while feeding.
