Suggest Ways To Control Limping When Suffering From Cerebral Palsy

Question: Hi, I have a mild case of cerebral palsy, very high cognitive functioning the only real sign is a walk with a slight limp on the left side of my body. I have noticed on occasions where I am a little uncomfortable my legs really tighten up, causing my limp to become more pronounced any idea why this may occur and what are some possible treatments.
Brief Answer:
Physical therapy may help.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Posture problems and difficulty controlling movements are symptoms among others of cerebral palsy.
These are more pronounced by stress or fatigue, so there is need for you not to extremely fatigue your muscles and not to stress out.
Another thing that may help reduce the muscles tightness is physical therapy.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

I have read that Botox may be a treatment worth exploring do you know anything about this type of treatment?
Brief Answer:
Botox improves temporary muscle spasms.
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for asking back.
Botox or botulinum toxin can be used as injection into continuously contracted muscles or partially shortened ones and gives a temporary relief of muscular symptoms usually around six months.
It may be worth it, because it could improve the posture.
Hope I helped you. Best regards.

Brief Answer:
Botox paralyzes nerves.
Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
Botox is used by cosmetic means to paralyze nerves that supply muscles and contract them.
If a muscle is contracted the skin over it is contracted too.
The same principle is used when a muscle or a group of muscles are contracted/spastic they need to be relaxed.
Botox stops the nerve impulses that make muscles stay contracted or spastic.
Hope I've been understandable.
