Suggest Ways To Deal With Extreme Anger

Posted on Tue, 22 Dec 2015
Question: I recently found out that my daughter had been abused by her boyfriend. When her boyfriend arrived I went into extreme rage and did everything in my power to get to the boyfriend. I was even told I went after my loved ones I only remember going after the boyfriend. Is it possible to not know who you're going after? I'm a 50 yr old mother of 2 and I feel extreme remorse that is not like me.

Brief Answer:
Never mind....In anger, so much can get lost!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what happened. In anger, we may not pay attention to fine details and may even transfer our aggression. This is not uncommon. However, it doesn't represent your true self and character and you should not allow yourself to be ruined by this. No mother would see the daughter being abused and she will not react. I am happy you did but may I suggest that you try to use diplomacy in future rather than violence?

Thanks for using our services and hope these words provide a healthy dimension from which you can approach this and make it work. I wish you well.
