Posted on Mon, 27 Jun 2016
Question: Hi there,
The following is a related question to my two previous posts.
My period arrived much to my distress, I have started taking Cerazette again, stopped for several days due to period.

I re-started on Monday past and have taken 6 regularly. I believe my ovulation is to-morrow, but I was hoping it will not happen as on Cerazette again.
Is there anything I can do to prevent ovulation or to delay my period which would be due In XXXXXXX
I struggle with blood and have PTSD, hence Cerazette is to help me also perimenopause.

Brief Answer:
Ovulation is not likely to happen.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Since you have started taking cerazette ovulation is not likely. Cerazette is a minipill and is to be taken daily. So, the chances of delay in the bleeding is less while taking it. In case you want to delay the bleeding then you will need additional hormonal tablets after consulting with your gynecologist.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

Hi there,
Thank you for your earlier response.
I am just asking, even though you have already told me, thank you, that is likely I have not ovulated this month.
When I contacted you, I would have taken 6/7 Cerazette around my ovulation, or expected time, since then I have now taken 8, as this is Tuesday, 24th May.
As yet I have no signs, normally, I can tell, the only different thing I have noticed is a change in my vf, which still looks healthy but is not as runny, it looks thicker,(sorry) other than that I cannot say. I guess my question is do you think I may have ovulated or will do soon, now on day 17?
I am also going to ask, if I have not ovulated, what will happen now other than continuing with Cerazette/or if I have will my period be later? it is all a bit confusing and new to me and I am really trying not to stress, but period things' do upset me.
Thank you again,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
Chances of ovulation are low.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The chances of ovulation while taking cerazette regularly that too on day 17 is less likely. The change in the mucosa can be related to hormonal changes due to the pill you are taking.
It is difficult to exactly predict the date of your next periods but the periods may be delayed by a few days due to the stress or travelling or changes in dietary habits.
Hope my answer is helpful.
