Suggest Ways To Increase Foetus Weight When Amniotic Fluid Is Less

Question: Hi doctor.. I am almost 31 weeks pregnant.. ultrasound indicates slight drop in amniotic fluid AFI 9.2, biophysical profile 8/8, normal doppler studies with cerebro placental ratio 2.8, fetal weight around 1.6 kgs.. the HC, FL and BPD are corresponding to 31w and above, but the AC corresponds to 29W gestation.. Placenta is grade 2 for one radiologist while one pointed out 2-3 changes.. Please advise on the best approach to help the baby gain weight and prolong the pregnancy as much as possible.
Brief Answer:
Early IUGR
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Since the AC is less and amniotic fluid is slightly less, therefore it is slight intrauterine growth restriction.
However, as Doppler and biophysical profile is normal, there is nothing to worry at present.
You should take high protein diet consisting of milk and milk products, sprouts, pulses, eggs and meat( if non vegetarian).
You should drink plenty of fluids, at least3-4 litres a day. You should adequate rest, 8 hours in night and 2 hours in day.
All this will promote fetal growth for sure.

Brief Answer:
Do not worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, the growth restriction is just mild, and will likely to catch up if you follow these instructions.
Moreover, if the Doppler is not deranged, there will be no long term effects on the baby.
Be optimistic and stress free.
