Suggest Ways To Manage Anxiety Due To Fear Of Recurrence Of Prostate Cancer

Question: Need another opinion. I am 64 year old man suffering from health related anxiety and depression over the last 15 months. Health anxiety mainly revolves around fear of prostate cancer. Have very large prostate with periodic hematuria. Biopsy in Oct 2017 was normal. Have also sufferered from chronic nausea and more recently trembling both of which get better at night. Overall seems to be getting worse. Not very functional and am on medical leave. Both pcp and psychiatrist think symptoms related to anxiety and depression. Psychiatric meds currently on klonopin 0.5 mg 2 times a day, Prozac 20mg once a day and mirtazapine 30mg at night.

Hi,

It was clearly evident that you are scared of it could be cancer inspire of being its relevant investigations were normal.

It could be due to illness anxiety problem.

I can find the medications that you are taking appropriate, but you are on two antidepressants, I couldn't find the necessity of two drugs of the same class.

I would like to know since how long you are on these medications?

Anyway, you are on correct medications, so please let me know the response of those.
