Suggest Ways To Manage Diarrhea When On Vibrid 10mg
Question: I've been taking Vibrid 10mg for about 3 weeks. I can't take having 10 -12 bouts a day with diarrhea. Do I need to titrate down or since it's the lowest dose can I just stop?

It is understandable not to be able to tolerate that many loose stools.It is possible that one of the other antidepressants may work better for you.
Normally the risks associated with discontinuation of are greater if the medication has been taken for 4 weeks or more but to reduce the chance of discontinuation syndrome, it would be best to taper.
Tapering is normally done over a 2 to 4 week period, since you are at the lowest dose, it should take only 1 to 2 weeks.
It would be best to speak to your doctor to let him or her know about the reaction you are having and your desire to stop the medication.
You can go to alternate days for a week then skip 2 days for the next week or you can do the alt days for a week then stop since you are on a low dose for a short period of time.
Caution and spreading over a 2 week period may be best.
