Suggest Ways To Manage Nausea And Vomiting While On Iron Supplements
Question: Hi Doctor , I conceived through Frozen embryo transfer (ICSI) at 35 years of age. Transfer happened on 10th August and first HCG test is on 24th august. Going to complete 5 months by Dec 24th. Currently, am on progesterone oral tablets(Dubagest) of 200mg - 200 mg per day. Along with that , having Calcium tablet (CORCIUM) , Folic Acid (FOLMET), MultiVitamin (Supradyn) and Iron tablet (Faa)
am facing lot of problems having Iron tablet , tried different varieties of Iron oral medicines. Faa , Amway nutrilite Iron-Folic acid , Daily Iron half tablet along with orange juice. But, still nausea & Vomitings exists. Among all of them DailyIron is less problematic.
In between few days , i stopped taking Iron supplement as am becoming weak due to vomitings and not having enough food, but later realized that I shouldn't skip , I started having dailyiron with orange juice which is bit ok for now.
Went through CBC test to confirm that am not anemic. uploading the reports. please go through the report and let me know your findings & suggestions.
Am still connected with infertility hospital where gynecologists are not that great , yet to find a doctor near to my location whom with I can plan further appointments which is bit time taking process.
TIFFA scan is due this week going to happen at infertility hospital , will meet gynec once I get tiffa reports.
Meanwhile, would like to know if CBC report was normal or not.
Please provide me any suggestions for safe pregnancy.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Can skip iron for a month or two
Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam, thanks for trusting health care magic
I have seen the attached report and glad to inform that your hemoglobin levels are good and now you can skip taking iron in between for a month or two.
And start it on daily basis after 28 weeks of gestation.
Also we can give you injections of iron in case the problem persists in taking it orally.
Get your scan and then we can discuss further
Regards
Dr Manisha

Hi Dr XXXXXXX
I went for TIFFA Scan yesterday (completed 22 weeks) and got the reports. And the reports say "Placenta position is posterior enroaching the internal OS Grade - 1".
Doctor said that there are chances of bleeding and should get admitted immediately if so. am little worried about this. seems like there is no medicine for getting this adjusted. I did browse through many websites looking for exact answers , precautions etc. but becoming more panic by reading through all of them.
Now, What i need to know is that
1. What is the severity of this problem?
2. Can i go to work regularly? sitting job (software) not much stress as I enjoy my work always.
3. Can i do cooking (normally ends in 30 mins) ?
4. Can i travel or do you see any risk?
5. When should i go for further scan to know if it is in better position?
6. Chances of bleeding? if so, what are the precautions? what is the minimum time for the admission into hospital? based on this , i need to choose nearest hospital and get in contact with them from now Onwards.
7. What are the possible risks involved?
Please find the attached reports and clarify my concerns. And give me suggestions for safe pregnancy.

Brief Answer:
Precautions enumerated
Detailed Answer:
I understand your anxiety about the issue
It is not a serious problem but definitely needs regular care and adequate precautions
Precautions in the form of rest as much as possible but not strict bed rest just simple avoidance of heavy work, lengthy working hours including sitting and standing and of avoiding bumpy travel.
Chances of bleeding is anyway between 30-35% in cases like yours.
Can cook and go for job but avoid long hours of work and intercourse too.
Can travel by air or train and even personal car in case of need but avoid as much as possible
Get a repeat scan for evaluation of placenta at 32 Weeks and then we will be able to assess the exact situation including mode of delivery.
Choose a good hospital nearby especially the one with good nursery for the baby as there can be a need of premature delivery so take due care of it.
