Suggest Ways To Manage Withdrawal Symptoms Of Klonopin
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Brief Answer:
Nothing over the counter will help
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
I am sorry to say that Nothing over the counter can help you in withdrawal symptoms of klonopin. Only replacement with other less potent benzo like lorazepam or slow tapering of klonopin is the option.
Severity of withdrawal depends on quantity and duration of intake of klonopin. More the quantity and duration longer and severe the withdrawal if stopped cold turkey.
Let me know your dose ,duration and last intake so I can guide further.
Hope I have answered your query , I will be happy to help further.
Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.

My dose was 1 mg. morning and at night before bedtime. I have been off of the Klonopin for a period of 1 week and I day, since my last dose. I was alright for the first few days then began sweating, having muscle jerking in legs, arms, and sometimes in the shoulders. That has for the most part stopped and only happens on occasion. I am now having extreme headaches, and issues with my vision - it is blurry and I feel a numb sensation on my hands, in places on my head and also feel that the auras are worse when this occurs. I am trying to get something done, about this while I try to come off but I am not sure that is possible without causing problems with a seizure... that is what worries me about this situation.
Brief Answer:
No possibility of seizure...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for follow up.
You were taking 2 mg clonazepam per day.You forgot to mention about duration.
Half life of clonazepam extends up to 48 hours at 2 mg dose. So after abruptly stopping clonazepam the severe withdrawal symptoms may lasts for 2-3 days as seen in your case. And withdrawal seizures generally occurs in 1-6 days after stopping clonazepam cold turkey. You have stopped the same before 8 days, so there is almost no chance of seizures now. If the symptoms are troubling now, I would suggest (as your doctor recommended) to decrease clonazepam 0.5 mg every week.
All of the symptoms are withdrawal and they will gradually stop. You can use over the counter pain killers but I think it cannot provide much help. If symptoms are severe and affecting your life and routine better to restart clonazepam and decrease gradually under your doctor's guidance.
Feel free to ask further.

I took Tylenol 500 mg. and that has no effect. The only thing that is above that is something like Tylenol 3; but I am not sure if that would help with this situation. I had trouble sleeping the last two nights and have had numb feeling on my face and my hearing comes and goes. Would this be common withdrawal of Klonopin.
Brief Answer:
yes these are common withdrawal symptoms
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Sorry for delayed response.
Sleep disturbance and numbness are very common symptoms of klonopin withdrawal.Hearing impairment is also common symptom.
Tynelol 3 contains codeine which also do not work for these withdrawal.
I already mention that if you are facing much disturbance low dose of klonopin would be the best approach which you can reduce gradually later on.
Take care.
