Topical calcium channel blocker
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If you think you have prolapsed hemorrhoid, surgery or ligation is the only way that can help from recurrence. The prolapsed vessels of the hemorrhoid have impaired venous return(let not the blood go back), which results in engorgement. This exacerbated by straining, inadequate fibre intake, prolonged time on the lavatory, and conditions such as pregnancy that raise intra-abdominal pressure. So fibre supplements are recommended in your case. Ligation or sclerotherapy is done for first to second degree hemorrhoids which surgery is reserved for fourth degree ones.
Till then you may need a topical preparation which has calcium channel blocker like Verapamil which can reduce the size of the lump. This is prescription based drug. If you have itching as well you should use preparationH with hydrocortisone, this is found over the counter. Sitz baths with warm water for 15 minutes will give better pain relief.
Hope this helps.
