my marriage date is fixed on 18th Nov 2015.
my last periods was on oct 20th. i wanted to prepone my periods so took meptrate tablet. hence i got my periods on nov 2nd
i had met one gynec so she suggested me to take XXXXXXX tab from 2nd day of periods. my question is can i take that tablet from 6th day of my periods which will be 7th or 8th nov.
pls suggest dr XXXXXXX

it is preferable to take XXXXXXX from day 2 of the periods.
However, it can be taken from day 5-6 of the periods, but in that case, XXXXXXX will not have a very effective contraceptive effect. It will work well to delay your periods till the time you consume them .

As my marriage date is on 18th Nov, and intercourse might take place only after that date. will still XXXXXXX not give the good contraceptive effect if i start taking from 6th day?

Oral contraceptive pills have maximum contraceptive action when they are started on day 1-2 of the periods.
The contraceptive efficacy decrease, though not becomes nil, if started later in the cycle.
Why do you want to delay taking the pills?

No medical reasons as such, if i start taking today onwards, it will exactly end on 24th, and i shall be on honeymoon from 23rd to 30th Nov, i dont want to have my periods that time.
Once XXXXXXX is stopped when will i have periods?

Hi dear, if you don't want the periods to come from24 th 30 th November, then you can continue with the next pack of XXXXXXX after23 rd November, without giving a gap in between.
You can continue the pills till you don't desire the periods.
