Hi again,
Thanks for writing back,
I have gone through the answers you have given,
From the details you have shared, if you have been able to stick to 10 cigarette smoking all this while, seems to be a good job. But 8 years can be as long a time to cause you some withdrawal symptoms when you choose to quit smoking. So I would like to suggest some methods that will help you to wean off smoking as easily as possible:
- Behavioral therapy:
Aims at controlling the emotional factors and other situations that can result in increased cravings. You may consider talking it out to a counselor, who is better equipped to help you in such situations.
- Nicotine Replacement Therapy:
There are various options available like nicotine gums, patches, sprays etc, which acts as nicotine replacements. This is known to reduce the cravings.
- Medications:
You can consider taking some medications to help you relieve out of anxiety.
If you are quite sure of stopping alcohol I would suggest that its best for you to meet with your treating doctor, about de-addiction centers and their services.
I hope I have answered to your query,
Please feel free to discuss further.

Hi again,
Thanks for the follow up,
Sorry for the delay in replying back,
Chewing gum is considered as a good alternative, and there is a method of using it. I am sure you must be knowing how to use them, if not please feel free to ask, I will be able to help you with it.
The other alternative which is considered equally beneficial, is nicotine patches, which is also available here. But you need to consult with a psychiatrist in your area, so as to adjust the dose of nicotine released in your body.
The does is to be titrated accordingly and then reduced so that you are able to outcome any withdrawal effects.
Like I had mentioned earlier, you need to discuss the options with your treating doctor and follow the line of management accordingly. With strong determination and effort, you can surely get over this habit and lead a very normal life.
Also engage in other activities that will keep you occupied and help you overcome the urge to smoke.
I hope this helps,
