Suggest Ways To Rule Out Cellulitis

Question: My sister called me from work and told me her right leg was swollen from the thigh to the ankle. She remembered making a slight misstep on an escalator but also remembered getting an insect bite but was not sure what bit her. The swelling continued overnight and she went to ER today. Got X-ray with no blood clot results. Dr. said looked like muscle injury. Sent her home and told her to use ice pack and Epsom salt. I am not convinced it is a muscle. Only one side and no pain from swelling. Hurts to walk because of tightness of skin for swelling.

or it was diffuse from starting , overlying skin is warm or cold ,
is there pitting when you press finger in it .
2. Foot is normal or not .
3. Is she suffering from any high BP or diabetes , taking any blood thinners .
