Question: Had a fall three days ago that injured my left side. Local Urgent Care PA examined and concluded that i likely have a cracked rib at lower left side. Painful on movement. My concern is that I have not had a bowel movement for 3 days. Have taken laxatives with no results. No XRay was taken.

Brief Answer:
What pain medications are you on?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this absence of bowel movements. This is most likely caused by the pain medications you are on. I will like that you tell me what specific laxative you took and what the pain medications are. I will need to adapt them.

I will also like to know if you have been vomiting or have pain in the abdomen?

Waiting and will provide specific instructions after this!

Brief Answer:
Take Dulcolax for this!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I will recommend Dulcolax tablets for this constipations. Take as many as three in a day. In addition, drink much water, increase your fluids intake, and exercise often. When this is resolved, increase the fiber and vegetable intake in your diet.

I hope this helps. Keep me updated as you follow through with these directives.
