Brief Answer:
Could be due to adjustment disorder

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for asking from HCM

I can understand your concern. A lot of youngsters dream of becoming millionaire and this is not abnormal. Shifting job is also common in order to get better package. Before commenting on his present situation I need some more details.

- Does he work efficiently at his work place? or He just claims big but doesn't work hard?

- Apart from changing job from SBI, did he change any other jobs before in short time?

- How is his behaviour at work place? Any frequent fights w
ith colleagues or seniors?

- Does he spend much on lifestyle?

- Did he start getting angry after the present stress at job or he was getting angry before too?

Please provide the details in follow up so that we can proceed further.

If he has started remaining angry after the present stress at job then most likely these symptoms are due to adjustment disorder. In adjustment disorder due to some chronic stress symptoms like anger outbursts, low mood, lack of interest in work etc are seen. Some less qualified guy has been given same position as his, so this could be resulting in depression symptoms. Please talk to him and if possible visit a psychiatrist. Proper counselling should help to reduce symptoms. In rare cases antidepressants are needed and he will come out of his symptoms.

Thanks, please mention details in follow up.

Brief Answer:
Most likely its adjustment disorder

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for providing details

You have mentioned that he is dedicated to his job, he quit the job that he got through campus placement (which most people do when they get good opportunity) and that is not a wrong thing. His nature is to remain angry since childhood which can be considered as normal because he remain polite with others. He doesn't spend much money. All these things are against the diagnosis of bipolar.

Most likely he is suffering from Adjustment disorder. Just talk to him and take him to a psychiatrist. Most probably a good counselling will help in reducing his bad behaviour. If needed SSRIs will help to improve the depressive symptoms due to adjustment disorder.

Thanks, I hope this helps you. Please don't hesitate to ask again for more doubts.

Brief Answer:
SSRIs are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

I am sorry for using short form :).

SSRIs are Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor drugs. These are one of most common and safe antidepressants and help to reduce the symptoms related to depression in about 4 weeks. Fluoxetine, Sertraline, Escitalopram etc are common SSRI drugs. These drugs don't cause dependence and are safe to use. If used under regular supervision of a psychiatrist these are very safe drugs.

In my opinion he has adjustment disorder which is resulting in mood disturbances. A trial of SSRI drug will help him to come out of the symptoms if proper counselling doesn't work.

Thanks, I hope this helps. Still have more doubts please ask again.
