Suggest Ways To Wean Off Neulasta
Question: Would like to stop use of Neulesta -- input requested re potential issues, with some details as follow, as it's understood finite details may be necessary....... however, right now, simply requesting an overview (addt'l) opinion:
1) I'm re-starting Chemo for Stage 4 Endometrial Cancer after a 3-month hiatus due to debilitating reaction to Neulesta ( pain in joints & muscles & spleen area). I have always been very active, ignoring (mind-over-matter w/respect to health issues) so for me to not be able to function was not acceptable.
2) At the hiatus point, my CA125 had dropped from 240-something to 19, boosting my hiatus belief.
3) Felt great first month of no Chemo. However, beginning second month, notice a re-growth of tumor in lower abdomen area (left to right ). The other tumor which was above present one, appears on Pet Scan & to touch, completely gone. Metastizing still limited to areas in abdomen, as previous Pet Scan of May '16.
4) Nov 16 Blood Count: WBC 5.2 & RBC 4.42
Reiterating....... am grateful for the first 4 Chemo's (reducing 240-something to 19 CA125 Count); however, believing mind is a great contributor to body's healing, requesting your years-of-experience input.
Noted....... looking forward to receiving an e-mail answer.

Brief Answer:
Hello dear. You must start chemo
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. I have gone through the details. You must start chemo as only this will prolong the survival in stage 4 disease. Moreover if you had side effects with neulasta, short acting forms of filgrastim can be tried.
Thanks and regards
