Suggest Ways To Wean Off Trazadone

Question: I take my last Pms-Escitalogpram tomorrow and my lrmaining medication is 25 mg Trazadone for sleep. I am feeling mentally fine and my motivation to work and engage in life remains normal. I wish to stop the Trazadone as well. What's the best way for me to stop? Thank you.

I can understand your concerns.

Its good to hear that you have recovered from depression and feel fine now.

Trazodone 25mg is a low dose. In my opinion, you can reduce the dose to half for one week and then stop.

Here, I would like to tell you that, the treatment guidelines suggest antidepressants should be taken for atleast 6 months after full recovery of symptoms in first episode of depression.

Stop escitalopram only if your doctor advices you, to prevent relapse of depression. Please do not be in a hurry to stop the drug.
