Question: Suppose i have a small bowel obstruction on my right mid small intestine...(undiagnosed) and i dont know if it is functional or mechanical. I have had abd pelvic ct. Now suppose i am also having paraneoplastic syndrome. Saidh pots orthostatic hypotension maybe bowel atony. Would a functional ileus always be in the same place?? Always backing up on the right mid abd?

This symptom can trigger the trouble in entire ileum. As stated you need also hormonal assay like 5HT and H indole acetic Acid assay to rule out any carcinoid nature of trouble. Few more conditions could lead to such sort of symptoms. Endoscopic evaluation may help in shooting the trouble.
