Taking BP Medication . Can%E2%80%99t Remember If I Took It
Question: Taking BP medication. Can%E2%80%99t remember if I took it this morning. Keep daily dose in separate bottle, and it was empty so should I assume that I took it?
Brief Answer:
I believe you took it.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I believe that you took the pill because if you had seen it empty you may have looked for a new package of pills to refill it.
You also can check your blood pressure to see BP levels.
If the BP is normal is another fact that supports the idea that you took the pill.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards

I took my BP this morning for that exact reason 3 times 144/97, 143/97 and 154/87 so I called Doctors office and gave them the readings and also told them that I could not remember if Intook BP med. The nurse said don%E2%80%99ttake BP med again, because you probably already took it, andyoudon%E2%80%99twant to double dose. He said the readings were a little high but notto worry continue totakemy BP med as perscribed, and check BP ina week. I don%E2%80%99t like taking it with the Home monitor because more often than not it is high. I had it taken at the doctors office last week, and at first they took it with the automatic machine, and the reading was 150/100, and then he took it manually and the reading was 138/80. I am thinking the second reading at the doctors office where he took it manually was more accurate than the machine reading. I also get nervous when I even think about taking my blood pressure so that%E2%80%99s why I don%E2%80%99t like to take it. Thoughts?
Brief Answer:
No need to retake it.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
I think you took the pill so no need to worry.
The BP values are elevated but not too much so it doesn't require taking medications.
The manual measurements of BP show more realistic results than automatic aparatus
