Let me know your present blood pressure status.
High blood pressure in 99% cases is idiopathic (having no reason) in nature and exact cause can not be established.
This is due to over activity of Renin angiotensin aldosterone system (RAAS).
Rest 1% cases are due to hormonal disturbances which could be hypo/ hyperthyroidism, pheochromocytomas and cushings syndrome.

You should consult with XXXXXXX medicine specialist/ gastroenterologist and should go for thorough check up.
You should also go for thyroid profile, serum ACTH, serum epinephrine and norepinephrine level, color doppler studies of both renal arteries.
So in majority of cases, exact cause could not be established and a patient has to take antihypertensive medicines for life long with target to control blood pressure.
High blood pressure and diabetes are the two commonest cause of impairment of renal function world wide; so you have to take medicines for control of blood pressure.
