Hi

Thanks for the query.

You have provided with good information but I would like to know few more things as this would help me in suggesting you better.

1. Have you sustained any trauma like blunt injury to the testis?

2. Is there any pain when you touch the testis area?

3. Is there any pain or burning sensation on urination?

4. Are you sexually active, any evidence of STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) in past history?

5. Any loss of weight recently?

6. Any recent stress, trouble sleeping?

Possibilities include trauma induced damage if you have sustained trauma. Also it is possible that the right testis may be getting bigger than the left which gives the impression that the left testis is getting smaller.

In such relative cases, possibilities of hydrocoele of right testis may be considered unless proven otherwise.

Need not worry. Take it step by step to find out why you have this problem. By getting a complete checkup by your Doctor and required investigations, a proper diagnosis may be reached and management decided.

You may also get a urine and semen test done if advised by your Doctor to support or refute the diagnosis.

Avoid heat near testis like standing near hot oven, barbecue, keeping laptop on the lap, taking hot bath etc. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and XXXXXXX leafy vegetables which are XXXXXXX in antioxidants for good health. Drink plenty of water. Get 6-8 hours of sleep daily. Avoid stress. Do Yoga to help relieve stress.

You should get a consult from Doctor as soon as possible to allay your anxiety and manage this condition appropriately.

I hope I have answered your query. I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

In response to your questions:

I have not sustained any trauma or injury to the testicles. There isn't any pain when I touch then however every so often I feel a slight sensation but I wouldn't say it hurts. The testicles have been achy when I wake up in the morning though and as the day goes along the achyness resides. I have no pain or burning sensation when I urinate. I am sexually active with my girlfriend of 5 years but no sign of STD's. I had chlomydia maybe 7/8 years ago but had it taken care of. I am not having any trouble sleeping or any extra stress or weight loss

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

According to your description you need to get rules out for fluid near the testis called hydrocoele and also dilated veins called varicocele. Usually these cause aching pain to the testis.

It is best to get a Surgical consult to rule out these conditions and also get a semen test as well as urine test done to find out if any damage to sperm if the testis has become smaller.

Do regular exercise everyday. Avoid lifting heavy weights especially if it aggravates the pain. Keep in regular follow up and take care of your health.

Wishing you good health.
