Thank You So Much, I Have Had Numerous Knee Operations
Question: Thank you so much, I have had numerous knee operations from sports injuries and just 2 days ago was diagnosed with Bakers Cyst from ultrasound at the local ER. the pain in knee and leg are much better now but I have now numbness to bottom of my foot and toes are stiff. Can that result from the bakers cyst leaking or rupturing and what can I do to get rid of the numdness
I am still waiting for a response from a physician
Brief Answer:
Can be mild nerve root compression or irritation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The numbness in the bottom of the foot and stiffness can be due to a mild nerve compression due to the swelling around the baker's cyst or due to mild degenerative changes in the lower lumbar spine. This is not related to leakage and rupture of Baker's cyst.
To relieve the symptoms you can start with methylcobalamin supplements. You can also use an ace bandage around the knee or use an elastic knee support to reduce the swelling and pain.
I hope this answers your query.
