Brief Answer:
It could be stye or insect bite

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It could be stye or insect bite. I both cases it will go down by itself in few days. Please share photos if you can.

Avoid rubbing or touching the eye
warm compresses with a warm cotton hanky can be done
If eye discharge is there, then wipe the eye with a mild soap that doesnot irritate the eye like XXXXXXX baby wash
In case of insect bite, syrup cetrizine can be taken to reduce itching, but firstly confirm if its insect bite

If need be, then further eye drops can be given as per the condition, whether its stye or insect bite and how far is it from eye.

Brief Answer:
This seems like an insect bite

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

This seems to be an insect bite and the sting has already produced a swelling. If possible, take him to any surgeon quickly to take out the sting. Otherwise it will take a week for swelling to reduce.

You can apply a drop of nail polish remover over the sting to neutralise it. Avoid getting it into eyes.
Give him some 3-4 drops of syrup cetirizine to reduce the itching. Apply some hydrocortisone 0.1% cream over it for same purpose. Avoid getting cream into eye or mouth.
Apply some cold compresses.
