Three Weeks Ago My Platelets Were 670,000. Now They Are

Question: Three weeks ago my platelets were 670,000. Now they are 829,000. Also of note, my WBC is 14.5, RBC 5.89 and RDW 17.4. These are the only test results I'm aware of. I have been referred to a hematologist, but the appointment has yet to arrive. I'm quite concerned and am wondering what the possible diagnoses might be.
Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry much about that.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your platelets counts are high. It is quite common in infection and after recovery from infection also. Your high WBC count may be due to infection. High RBC count may be due to dehydration or some other cause of polycythemia.
In my opinion, you should repeat complete blood count after 15 days. Nothing to worry much about that. Please attach your all old and new reports so that I can help you.

Are the elevated platelets, WBC and RBC an indicator of cancer, and if so what types?
Brief Answer:
Explained in details
Detailed Answer:
Random elevated RBC, WBC and platelets counts are not indicated of cancer.
persistent elevated count may be due to cancer. This type of picture is seen in Chronic myeloproliferative disorders like polycythemia Vera or essential thrombocythemia. But for that it should remain persistent with other clinical features.
So single or two elevated counts are not a cause of worry. Just repeat complete blood count. If it is increasing then we will investigate further.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
