Brief Answer:
may be related to circulation or nerve disease

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Tingling or prickling can be related to problems with circulation or nerves in an area.

Nerve disease is a more common cause of the two.
This is called neuropathy (abnormal nerve function). It can be permanent or temporary.

Some causes include: (1) diabetes
(2)trauma to the nerves- eg arthritis of the back
(3)low levels of vitamin b12 or folate
(4)thyroid disease
(5)abnormal levels of vitamin b6
(6)side effect of medication
(7)infection such as shingles
(8)neurological conditions such as MS

Blood tests such complete blood count, thyroid function, diabetes screening, vitamin levels- would help to determine if any of these is present, if the symptoms continue or worsen

There are medications that can help eg amitriptyline, tegretol, duloxetine, lyrica.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
