Treatment For Skin Burn
Question: Hi my girlfriend burned herself specifically her last 2 fingefs on her right hand. She grabbed a hot tatium nail that was lit very shortly before she grabbed it, it started to blister the next day. This was about 2-3 days ago. We do not know what to do as of now do we let these blisters pop alone? Or does this cause infection? Is there any type of over the counter cream you have to or can apply to speed the blisters up? Just to clarify this was lit with a torch lighter, not anytype of small flame this is literally a torch. Please reply as soon as possible because we are very concerned
Brief Answer:
Dont rupture the blister
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to XXXXXXX This is Dr. Ashish Verma, a general surgeon, answering to your query.
Dont rupture the blisters as that will lead to infection. You can apply a topical local anaesthetic gel like lignocaine, for pain relief. Those blisters will subside on its own in a few days. Give her oral analgesic for pain relief. Nothing else is needed.
By the way how much part of those fingers are burnt?
Hope that i have answered to all your queries. If you have further queries, i will be glad to answer them.

Pretty much the whole inside an/side of both fingers. But thank you very much for your help dr.
Brief Answer:
thats a big burn.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thats a big burn area. Then she needs to start on oral antibiotics and analgesics. Any simple antibiotic will do, like amoxicilline or ciprofloxacin, but for the prescription you need to see a local doctor.
If the blisters are involving whole of front and sides of the finger, then apply any antibiotic ointment over it, like silver sulphadizine cream.
