Question: Twelve days ago I fell and broke 5 ribs. I felt pain in my right lower abdoman under the broken ribs. The ribs were not displaced. I have not gone to the bathroom for poo since I fell. My cat scans show nothing wrong. There is quite a bit of poo backed up. I have taken every laxative and misc suggested by my doctor. I even used golitely as if I were having a colonoscopy. It is to painful and uncomfortable to eat any thing solid. I am on a liquid diet and still taking meds for constipation to no avail. Could I have not only shocked my system but have something not found by Cscan. Would an MRI show anything different? I am concerned. Don

Hello,

In my opinion your system it’s shocked due to your broken ribs.At the moment you should not need further examination because the ct scan it’s very confident examination

You should continue your diet and laxative for awhile.If your symptoms continues than you should consult your doctor for the probability of colonoscopy
