Brief Answer:
You may have a condition called nocturnal polyuria.
Detailed Answer:
Good day and thank you for being with healthcare magic.
I am sorry to hear about your condition having lack of sleep because of frequent urination.
In older patients and where prostate problems have been ruled out as you have mentioned earlier there is a very common condition called nocturnal polyuria.
Symptoms of this condition having more volume of urine at night and usually having no urinary frequency in the day. Causes of this condition would be hypertension, heart failure , bladder aging and venous insufficiency ( in the legs) especially for patient with edema (leg swelling).
Treatment for this condition as first line would be conservative and behavioral modifications. No alcohol and caffeinated drinks at night, limiting fluid to 1/2 glass at dinner, raising the legs when lying down throughout the day to return fluid to the heart thereby have more urination during the day instead of the night.
For my patients I usually prescribe desmopressin intra nasally to decrease night time urine production but youll have to see a local urologist for a prescription and he has to check you sodium blood levels before starting therapy.
it would be also better to check for infections, and kidney urinary bladder prostate ultrasound would be needed to ascertain the diagnosis.
I hope I have answered your query satisfactorily and you may contact me if you have questions and I'll be very happy to answer them.
