Ultrasonogram Shows Prominent MPD, Echogenic Specs In Pancreas. Early Pancreatitis?
Question: My ultrasonogram report of today says :
Pancreas has normal echo features. MPD is slightly prominent in the neck : 2.3 mm dia.
Few echogenic specs (2.4 mm and 3mm size) seen in body of pancreas.
? May be early Chronic Pancreatitis ????????
It also says Descending Colon diverticulum with no infammatory changes.
Normal liver, GB, CBD, Po. Vein, spleen, Kidneys, Bladder and prostate.
Please advise.

Your sonography report on pancreas is suggestive of chronic pancreatitis.
A CT scan of the abdomen may be done for confirmation.
Check your blood glucose levels.
If you have chronic diarrhea or oily stools, you may have to take pancreatic enzyme supplements.
Diverticulum in sigmoid colon could be due to poor bowel habits.
Take high fiber diet and drink plenty of fluids.
