Dear User,
Since your child is 7 months, you can start weaning with other foods. However, breast milk should be continued.
The other options you can consider with the infant food (which you are already giving) is mashed banana, carrot puree, powdered murmura (puffed rice) in breast milk, etc.
You may introduce fruits like Sapota/Chikku, XXXXXXX apple (peeled and stewed), or potato in the coming months.8-10 months.
From 10-12 months, Rics-dal Kichdi with carrot, curd rice, ragi idli, veg pulav, Chappathi, vegetable soup etc .
Some General Instructions.
• Whenever introducing a new food item, please ensure you give a very small quantity in the first serving and observe for some time for any allergy or difficulty.
• Start with a few spoons at a time, gradually increasing it to ½ bowl at 7-8 months, finally making it to 1 bowl by 10 months.
• If your baby is 6-8 months old, feed the baby 2-3 times and gradually increase the no. of supplements. For 9-11 months old, no. of complementary feeds required is 3-4 and for 12-24 months old, apart from feeding him 3-4 times, give your baby snacks like (Idli, boiled egg, etc. )1-2 times a day.
• A baby needs small amounts of food at first.
• Slowly increase the amount and consistency of food.
• Feed according to the baby's ability to chew and digest.
• You may need to feed after every 2-3 hours.
• Introduce one food at a time. Continue feeding the same food item for at least 1 week before introducing another food.
• Make sure all utensils required to prepare the foods are clean.
• Clean your hands before preparing food and before feeding
• Use prepared feed within half an hour. Discard unused feed.
• Continue breastfeeding for two years and beyond along with complementary feeding.
Hope This Helps,
Neethu.

Dear XXXXXXX
The best routine for the mother of a 7-month-year-old baby is very much unpredictable! Hope you can get this more than me.
The ideal way to get things done is by having a meal plan for the day, meal prepping done by any other member, or help in the family so that home-cooked meals are available on an everyday basis. This is the most practical solution to the problem. Because the demands of the baby should be met at any time giving less time to the other chores. Also stressing out and draining out is very normal these days when you have to meet the extra demands of the baby and the sleepless nights will add to the problem.
Offer her help every time, outsourcing works if possible, giving her time to rest, etc all these can be planned as a family as per everyone's routine.
Thanks,
Neethu Vipin.

Dear,
Please see the following points to be taken care of while Lactation.
• Healthy eating is important when you are breastfeeding. Your body has a greater need for most nutrients. Some of the extra energy required for breastfeeding comes from body fat stored during pregnancy. To meet your extra nutrient needs, it is important to eat a variety of nutritious foods. So opt for the nutrient rich options.
• Making healthy choices for the diet will help you to produce good quality and quantity of breast milk
• Opt for a variety of whole grains and fruits and vegetables.
• Eating a variety of foods will not only increase the nutrient quality, but also adds flavor to the breast milk
• Stay hydrated- drink frequently, before you feel thirst.
• Limit caffeine- limit the coffee or caffeinated drinks 2-3 cups per day.
• Keep easy to prepare nutritious snacks on hand (e.g. crisp-breads and cheese, fresh fruit, yoghurt, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, canned beans, flavored milk, fruit smoothies, breakfast cereals and milk).
• Do not skip meals.
• Limit foods high in fat and sugar such as sweets, chocolate, soft drinks, cakes, sweet biscuits, chips and fatty take-away food.
• Use healthy cooking methods such as steaming, boiling, microwaving, and grilling and stir frying.
• Do some gentle exercise such as taking your baby for a walk. If available attend physiotherapy postnatal classes.
• Plan your healthy meals and snacks ahead of time.
Hope this helps.
