Hello, Ive had a swollen lymph node for 3 months now... I dont feel it has gotten bigger. I had a cbc made, renal, thyroid and ldh blood test. Everything came out ok. My doctor decided to do a sonogram to check the lymph node and it came back measuring 2.9cm and the radiologist reading said no worrisome features. My doctor still scheduled a biopsy for tomorrow to make sure. Should I be worried? I have no symptoms and I am 25 years old. What are the chances of lymphoma?
Brief Answer:
Hello. It should be biopsied
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. I have gone through the query.
So any lymph node 2 cm and above in size needs to be biopsied by a needle and examined under microscope. Its difficult to say but it can be a lymphoma, tuberculosis. Each of these is curable.
Thanks and regards

In your experience... if it was lymphoma? would it be in a starting stage? seeing I have no symptoms and the ultrasound said the lymph node was hyperechoic with a fatty hilum. Why do you say it is curable? It is cancer no?
Brief Answer:
Hello. It can be normal also
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. So as you said the fatty hilum is preserved, hence it can be a normal reactive node also. If it turns to be lymphoma, then a petct will be done to look for other sites of lymph nodes. A petct then will tell the exact chances of complete cure.
I will advise you not to be anxious as i think it can be normal also.
Thanks and regards
