Brief Answer:
Mostly a muscle strain.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sunniedee46,
Thank you for the query.I have read it &understand your concern.

The pain you had while lifting a box right side of lower back is affected.Walking is painful, squatting or bending is not possible &you can take rest while lying on left side.
This can be due to acute muscle tretch or sprain due to sudden load on a particular group of muscles.OR it can be due to severe stress to lumber spine with possible disc prolapse.
*Home care-
You should take rest .Totally avoid painful movements.
- Take an ice pack to affected part every 20 minutes with a towel between the pack & the skin to avoid over cooling of the part.
-Over the ounter pain medicine like Acetaminophen can relieve the pain.
* Consultation of doctor for actual physical examination & needful investigations like X ray/MRI of the spine to exclude /confirm spinal or disc involvement.
At this stage exact nature of injury is confirmed & a cause specific management is started.
( Muscle pull usually resolves in 4-6 weeks of starting. It may need addition of specific physiotherapy exercises to drugs
Spinal injury has a different line of treatment according to extent of harm occurred.)
*you should consult an orthopedic surgeon if there is no relief with home care in a weeks time OR in case the pain agravates .
I hope I have answered your query adequately to your satisfaction.Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.
