Question: Hi Team ,

*********** Please forward this query to doctor who has answered my question earlier and he is aware of this issue ****************

Collagen dressing has gone 3 days back .
We visited doctor last Wednesday and he said now we can give him bath with XXXXXXX warm water however not applying any soap at wounded area .
He also suggested to continue Antibiotic and Apply Coconut Oil at wounded area every 3 hours to avoid dryness.

Questions : All the wound is now gone however we can see the pink flesh now and how many more days would it take for skin formation ?
Any advice to prevent scars ?
How long will it take to get the new skin formed .
What all precautions can we take for faster healing ?
Best food advised for faster healing ?

I attached the latest doctor report to this query.

FYI : My son who is 11 months old , accidentally spilled hot water and sustained first degree burns over his chest , face and right arm and second degree burns on some part of abdomen. We had to take him to emergency in Rainbow Hospital near Banjara Hills on 19 July 2018 and he was discharged on 21 July 2018 . As per doctor advise , he requires complete medical attention and extra care to avoid bacterial infection for at least 15 days .

Doctor advised us to use only Antibiotic and a new ointment which needs to be applied at wounded area everyday once in the morning after bath.

Brief Answer:
It may take another 7-10 days for complete recovery

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

As per your details it appears that the wound is healing well and there is no sign of complication. Pinkish layer in the healing wound is just one step behind the brownish skin formation.
The Pinkish appearance is due to underlying vascular layer and re-epithelialization process. The skin regeneration timing can vary from 2 to 3 weeks. It may take another 7-10 days in your case.

As said earlier chances of scar formation is remote in first and very less in second degree burn. The collagen dressing helps in reducing the scar formation which was appropriately done in your case.

I have seen the prescription and here doctor has advised to continue the antibiotic (although the chances of getting infection is less now but still to be on safer side) and multivitamin (bevon).

Vitamins like vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E helps in rapid skin regeneration. Similarly minerals like zinc and iron helps in same way. Bevon is a good multivitamin / multi-minerals combination.
High protein diet as advised like pulses, egg white (if nonvegetarian), milk and carbohydrate supplements (for extra glucose) like potato, glucose water, milk, rice based khichdi, kheer helps in proper nutritional supplement for early recovery.
Application of antibiotic helps in preventing bacterial infection and also keeps the skin moist for better recovery.

I would like to continue with the same as advised by your doctor as the care given is possible best. I hope this helps. Wishing for your baby's good health.

Regards
