What Are Changes Of Pregnancy When On Diane 35?
Question: Hello Doctor,
I have been on Diane 35 for about close to a year for my Acne treatment. (So, I finish the 21 pills and have the 7 days break )
However, I started on a new box of Diane 35, 5 days ago but I started the new box about 2-4 days late. Also, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend last night and took Postinor, 1 hour after the intercourse. I was supposed to eat the second Postinor pill at 10.20am but took it about 2 hours late.
What are the chances of me getting pregnant? And, am I still protected?

I have read your query thoroughly.
First of all I must advice that you must be aware that Diane-35 is a birth control pill also.
Secondly that you should not miss the pills. If you miss one pill then you must take 2 pills on the next day. But if more than 2 pills are missed you will have to start from all over again in the next cycle.
Also you had unprotected sex and took one tablet of Postinor immediately. The second tablet should have taken the next tablet within 12 hours of sexual intercourse .Since you missed the tablet at the exact time I recommend that that you take the tablet immediately because it can be taken within 24-48 hours of the intercourse. The success rate is 92- 99 %. Wait till the next period. I hope you are satisfied .

Regarding the Diane 35, I started 5 days ago.but was 2 days till 4 days late behind schedule. So, I had a break from Diane 35 for approx 9-12 days. Thus, am I still protected from the unprotected sex? (Since it isn't my first box of Diane 35)
As for the Postinor, I took the second pill 2 hours late. I had the first pill one hour after intercourse.
Will the effectiveness of Postinor be decreased because I took the second pill 2 hours late?

Dear as per the new plan 2 tablets can be taken with in 120 hours of the sexual intercourse. Also if one tablet is taken , the other tablet is to be taken with in 12 hours .
Now that you are 2 hours late I suggest that you need not worry and as I have suggested , wait till the next cycle .
But if you still want you can adopt another method of contraception that is IUD insertion , if only 120 hours have passed since the time of intercourse .
Regarding Diane 35 it will be effective in the next cycle.
