What Are My Chances Of Getting Pregnant According To The Follicular Study?

Question: Hi, I have gone through follicular monitoring in the cycle. We are trying to conceive from past 5 months. Please help me in understanding these readings and let me know if there are any chances of pregnancy in this cycle:

Hi XXXX

I have reviewed your follicular study. According to this, on day 16 the follicle has not yet reached the appropriate size (18-20mm). The endometrium also not totally upto the mark, as it is 6.5mm and we expect it to be 8-9mm for good implantation.
Also, from day 14 to 16 the follicle has started decreasing in size. Is this your natural cycle or you were given some drugs for stimulation of follicle also.

I would wait for another 2-3 days and follow this study completely. Your sonologist will advise the next study to look for rupture of follicle. If size does not grow further or no rupture of follicle seen, I think chances of pregnancy will not be very bright this cycle.

Keep on taking folic acid and don't worry.

The medicines you are taking are supportive medicines in the form of vitamins and anti-oxidants alongwith folic acid. Continue taking that.Since this is your natural cycle and your dr. will monitor the response this cycle and if not successful this time, may start ovulation induction drugs. I hope all other things including semen analysis are o.k.

Thanks Doctor.

My dr. has prescribed me Ovaflo 25mg 3 times a day. She will also start Ovaluation medication from day 2 to day 6 of coming cycle. I hope I am on right medication. Will there be any side effect of taking Ovaflo because I have read somewhere that its a type of hormone that can make periods irregular. That's why I am worried. Shall I start taking it ?

Hi XXXX Thanks for writing again.
Ovaflo 25 mg is dehydroepiandosterone. Have you gone tests for hormones earlier, like FSH, LH, Prolactin,AMH levels, Estrogen and progesterone levels,DHEAS,etc.
usually this is given when DHEAS levels are low or ovarian reserve is poor. I don't know the indication in your case. But it will not have much effect when taken for a short time. You may discuss with your dr. in detail regarding this.
According to your ovulation study you will need some ovulation stimulation which your dr. will start next cycle. Don't worry. The extra stress will affect your health. Be cool and give some time to all these things to happen smoothly.
