What Are Precaution For Sinus For Mom, 54 Years Of Age?
Question: Hello Doc. My mom, 54 years of age, has a history of sinus (approx 15-20 years). It was in control since some time and she was not under any medications. However since the last 3 days she is having a headache, running nose and bit of breathing problem as well. Can you suggest something please?

Your mother may find relief by taking the following medications:
Analgesic with Antiinflammatory like Ibuprofen,
Antacid like Rantac,
Antiallergic like Levocetrizine along with decongestant like Phenylephrine (Levocetrizine with Phenylephrine)(If your mother is suffering from hypertension,then take only Levocetrizine)
Decongestant nasal drops like Oxymetazoline (If your mother is suffering from hypertension,then use Saline nasal drops),
Mucolytic like Ambroxol.
If the headache is severe,or yellowish pus discharge in the nasal discharge or fever,then it would be advisable to start Antibiotic like Azithromycin.
Also do steam inhalation.
Drink lots of warm water.
Avoid cold food and dust.
