The location you are pointing to is where the stomach typically is located, which is a little left from the middle of the upper abdomen, and so gastritis would typically hurt in this area. If it is a burning pain, or worse before or after meals, especially after meals with spicy or fatty foods, or improves with antacids, this would support that diagnosis. For gastritis we often prescribe PPI medications such as omeprazole, and continue those for at least 2 months.
