What Are The Chance Of Normal Delivery When The Baby Is In Breach Position?
Question: hello doctor, my wife is in her 9th month(36th) week of pregnancy, due date is 20th dec as per last ultrasound. yesterday she had her checkup, baby is still in head up position. her gynac said there are chances of c section as baby is not in proper position. also amniotic fluid level is little low. kindly guide us about the same, is normal delivery is not possible now? wat she should do to change the position of baby?
Brief Answer:
nothing to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hello, Mr XXXXXXX your gynecologist is right in saying that she has increased chances cesarean section because head is high up which is the prime contributor to the opening of birth canal and if the amniotic fluid is also less then opening is impaired even more.
Ask her to take a regular walk of at least half an hour daily and drink lots of water.
Rest is in god's hands because it is not a mandatory thing rather just an increased probability of cesarean section.
She will be put for trial of labour and in case progress is good then there are chances of normal delivery.
Take care.

If C section happens, what precaution we need to take care from now and after delivery.
If C section happens, what precaution we need to take care from now and after delivery.
Brief Answer:
precautions advised
Detailed Answer:
Hi, let's hope she gets delivered vaginally but in case cesarean section occurs then as it is there is no need of extra precautions from now itself but after cesarean she should take proper rest and avoid constipation and cough.
For avoiding these she should start light walk till kitchen or bathroom on her own daily from 3rd day post cesarean onwards.
Avoid oily and spicy food stuffs and avoid eating outside food and rather take bland home made products.
Also drink plenty of water and fresh lime juice daily.
Breastfeeding the baby helps in recovery of uterus rapidly so nurse her baby at the earliest.
Hope for the best.
