What Are The Chances Of HIV Transmission Through A Non Penetrative Sex?

default
Posted on Mon, 11 Jul 2016
Question: I suffer from eczema on my penis. Recently i was at a strip club and while i received a lap dance the striper moved my hands to her vagina.
At no point were my pants removed or penis exposed. I left the bar and went home and approx 15 min after leaving bar used the restroom, forgetting to wash my hands prior to touching my penis.
My anxiety is somewhat getting the better of me here as im currently having an eczema flare up and concerned that it may increase my risk of exposure of any STDs particulrly skin to skin exposure.
So my question here is. Can infections such as syphillis and herpes live on the hand / fingers long enough to put me at risk?

Brief Answer:
Your risk for STD through your activities is negligible.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
At no point during the dance you had unzipped your pants.

STD organisms are highly fragile and can not survive outside the human body or body secretions for more than few seconds. Atmospheric oxygen and the temperature variations are inimical to them.

So the chances for you to get STD/HIV is unlikely through your act of handling your penis with unwashed hands, even in situations of an active eczema of the penis.

Thank you Dr XXXXXXX
You are correct, at no time were my pants unzipped or my penis exposed.

I appreciate the feedback. I suppose my initial anxiety was for skin-to-skin infections, but it sounds as if it would require direct gential to genital contact to transmit something like herpes and not hand to genital?

I appreciate you setting my mind at ease over this exposure.
