What Are The Chances Of HIV Transmission Through Non-penetrative Sex?

What is the reliability of laboratory tests in India?
If someone goes to a diagnosis centre ,where their blood sample is taken and sent to a laboratory, where they get their result in the same day or next day, whay test is this?
Is this test reliable after seven months of the incident mentioned above?
It says antibody test. And it said non reactive.
Are these tests conducted properly? Do they follow it up with a more accurate test?
I am not sure if these centres are reliable. Please help.
Your risk is negligible.Possibility of HIV infection ruledout by your test.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
The risk of HIV through fingering is negligible as per CDC XXXXXXX USA.
Even if the man has HIV infection, the risk through fingering is negligible only.
All the tests available for HIV are highly reliable up to the extent of more than 97%.
Antibody detection test reports can be attained on the same day itself. Antigen tests will take time to get the report and also depending upon the place and city where the blood had been taken.
Antibody tests done 3 months after the risk activity is conclusive and after that period it would be reliable at any time. Nonreactive antibody test 7 months after that incident ruled out the possibility of HIV to the extent of 97% or above. Another nonreactive test with different type of test for HIV can be considered as 100% reliable.
Most of the bigger laboratories will perform the test to a reliable extent as these procedures are simple and needs less expertise efficiency.
I hope that these information will be enough for you.

You say it's 97% accurate , which is still causing worry.
Additional information: The guy who performed fingering got a job at an XXXXXXX airline five months after the incident. These airlines take medicak tests where HIV tests are also conducted. Does that mean he was free in January, the month where the fingering incident happened?
Please help.
No HIV test is accepted as 100% fool proof for HIV.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
No test is for HIV is 100% fool proof. Above 97% is highly reliable. Not to worry. PCR and 4th generation COMBO/DUO test are reliable up to 99%.
I am not sure that his pre-placement medical examination included HIV test or not. If he had a non reactive test at the time of his placement then as you rightly pointed out that he is free from HIV. Fingering does not carry any obvious risk for HIV transmission.

ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURERS IT IS 100% SENSITIVE AND SPECIFIC. It is up to you to rely on it. WHAT YOU HAD REFERRED WAS A small study. You can rely on that study. In my experience it is lesser than 4th generation and PCR test.
