Brief Answer:
Hello,

Detailed Answer:
Hello, welcome to Ask a Doctor Services. I have read your question.

You had HIV RNA PCR (at 2 weeks) done. This test is highly sensitive. A "not detected" result at 2 weeks is very reassuring.

Your HIV ELISA is negative, and the HIV 4th Generation Test (at 4 weeks) is also negative. This test detects both HIV antibodies and p24 antigen. A negative result at 4 weeks is highly reliable and nearly conclusive.

Based on the exposure you described and your test results, your risk of HIV transmission is extremely low.

However, always practice safer sex to reduce the risks of other STIs. Avoid multiple partners. To be on the safer side, you are advised to consider regular STI testing.

You are advised to do another 4th generation test at 6 weeks for final reassurance.

You are also advised to get a complete routine checkup done to detect any autoimmune disease or medical condition that is not detected and requires treatment.

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) spreads when specific body fluids from an infected person with a detectable viral load enter another person’s bloodstream or mucous membranes. So always perform protected sex.

I hope I have answered your question. Take care.
