What Are The Chances Of Polyp Growing Back Again?

default
Posted on Mon, 12 Aug 2024
Question: I understand that when a Polyp is removed during a colonoscopy, there is a chance it will grow back. If it does grow back and removed a second time, then- will it grow back a third time and again a fourth time? Any data on this??

Brief Answer:
What is the biopsy report.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
Polyps are generally benign(non cancerous) However some polyps are known for recurrence depending on the pathological types and in that case followup may be required.
I’m hereby attaching a study of the same.
