as I have had one miscarriage will I have another or do you think it could be a one off
Brief Answer:
You can have a normal pregnancy next time.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
A miscarriage at 6 weeks is mostly due to a chromosomal abnormality.
This does not mean that you will have a miscarriage again. The chances of natural conception again are present.
The normal ovulation returns 1-2 cycles after a miscarriage. No need to worry.
Do some basic things also to improve fertility:
1) Avoid stress by yoga/deep breathing regularly (20-30 times).
2) Drink plenty of fluids/water and eat leafy vegetables & fruits.
3) Control body weight by regular physical exercise.
4) Maintain personal hygiene and need proper sleeping.
Before planning next pregnancy, it is better to undergo some investigation to rule out causes of previous abortion like TORCH profile, Blood gr & Rh typing of both (to check Rh incompatibility), Blood sugar (PPBS), Test for chromosomal abnormality, Progesterone level after ovulation etc.
Taking folic acid & vitamin E in preconception period are very much helpful to improve fertility & in brain development of fetus during pregnancy.
Best days for conception are from day 10-16 of cycle counting the date of start of periods as day 1 of cycle in women with regular cycles.
It is recommended to have sex on alternate days during these days to have best results.
Hope I have answered your query.
Take care
