What Are The Chances Of Developing Rabies?

Question: I am having a little anxiety about something. About two months ago, I awoke to a bat flying around in my room ( I could hear it about me head scratching the wall), and I hit it with a tennis racket and killed it; then threw it out. Well, for some reason I was just searching the internet and came across some reading on rabies. I have not shown any signs or symptoms that I know of, but clearly I should have had it tested (didn't know that, as I don't recall being bitten). Though the odds are low, and there has not been a positive case of a bat having rabies in my county(hillsdale county, Michigan) in 2 years, I am a bit worried (because that's my nature). Should I go see a Dr.; are there any tests they can do?

Brief Answer:
No risk of developing rabies
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic,
I have gone through your history and understand your concern. Bat is a known reservoir of rabies and can transmit rabies by biting but in your case the bat has not bit you and has not caused any breaching of the skin. So the chance of getting rabies is not at all possible.
As you have mentioned in your history that there is no case of rabies transmitted by bat in your region since the last 2 years, it will also help us to know that you are 100% free from rabies.
I would assure you that the possibility of getting rabies in your case is not possible. I don't think you requires further evaluation from the doctor.
Thank you.
