What Are The Chances Of Getting Hydrosalpinx In Another Fallopian Tube?
Question: Hi my name is XXXXXXX. with regard to your reply on 9th of august, I had my further scans and I have been diagnosed with hydrosalpinx in my left fallopian tube.the doctor said he is yet not sure about it coz they do not get a clear picture of the internals unless they do the surgery. but what he told me is that my left tube looks like a balloon so there could be a possibility of hydrosalpinx. I have been suggested to get it removed if its the same. my question is, if my left tube has got hydrosalpinx then is it possible that my other tube can have it too and what are the possibilities of it ? can it be treated with medicines or with some surgery rather then removing it ? can you also advise me what are the approximate charges of one IVF cycle and what are the sucess rates ?

If one of your tubes has hydrosalpinx then your other tube can be affected too. This can be diagnosed only after a laparoscopy. The treatment depends on the severity of the adhesions. In case the adhesions are less then neosalpingostomy can be considered. This gives a time of 5-6 months for the conception to take place. After that the opened end can close again due to new adhesions.
In such cases after the surgery IVF is advised. In cases of endometriosis the success rate of IVF per cycle is 15-20%.
The charges of IVF cycle varies from place to place. In XXXXXXX each cycle costs around 1.5 lakh INR.
