What Are The Chances Of Herpes Infection Through Skin Contact?
Question: I was recently told I have hsv 1. so now I'm very paranoid with anyone I come in skin contact with. I work in childcare centre. I know a child's mother has some kind of hsv on her lip. and working with children it's hard not to have skin contact because they need help with washing hands. today when I was helping rolling the child's sleeves to wash hands I saw a red mark on inside of his wrist.
because the child's mom has cold sore automatically think to myself it's possible it's hsv. so I accidentally touched it with my finger I think. and I have a a small cut on my knuckles. ivut I quickly washed my hands after. would I be inffected wheremy knuckle is since it had a cut. the cut on knuckle didn't come in dire t contact with the red mark I saw. it was just my fingers that touched it..

Brief Answer:
no need to be concerned
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.
There is no need to worry since chances of any transmission is negligible especially if you washed your hand right after such contact. HSV is not so easily transmissed. Prolonged contact is required and higher concentration of viruses. So just relax, everything is fine. Wish you good health. Regards
